I really enjoyed that last stanza. It was a masterpiece.
I worry about sincerity too. But when I imitate my favourite authors, it gives freedom to be myself more than if I’m trying to imitate myself, or working really hard to ‘be myself.’ I find that I ooze out when I’m not looking, in other words.
Thank you so much! Your words here have touched me and I will treasure this comment. It's probably too kind in calling that stanza a masterpiece, but I admit I am proud of it.
Also, inspiring and poetic use of the word ooze. I agree that sometimes it's best to let things flow without trying too hard. I wrote about that briefly in one of my notes from last week about seeking re-enchantment in my life; it will happen more readily if you aren't trying so hard and just enjoy the process of reading or writing.
